Ethics & Sustainability

Responsible by Design

At Sophos, responsibility starts with how we design and make our products.

As a third-generation family-run business, we believe in taking a long-term view.
That means making thoughtful decisions about materials, production and packaging,
while continuing to reduce our environmental impact over time.

We are constantly reviewing our carbon footprint as a business and working towards being carbon neutral.

Thoughtful Materials

The materials we use are carefully chosen to balance quality, durability and responsible sourcing.

Our leathers come from suppliers certified by the Leather Working Group (LWG), an organisation that promotes responsible environmental practices in leather production. This includes improved water management, chemical control and responsible
tanning processes such as vegetable tanning.

For our bag collections, the cotton fabrics we use are sourced from mills participating in the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI). This programme supports more responsible cotton farming by reducing water use, protecting soil health and improving
livelihoods for farming communities.

Plastic-Free Packaging

Over the past two years we have removed all plastic from our packaging.

All Sophos packaging is now made using FSC-certified paper and card, ensuring materials come from responsibly managed forests.

These materials are fully recyclable, helping reduce unnecessary waste once products reach our customers.

Long-Term Partnerships

People are at the heart of everything we do.

We have worked with many of our manufacturing partners for decades, building trusted relationships with the factories and skilled teams who help create our products.

That same sense of continuity exists within our own team. Many of the people who work at Sophos have been part of the business for decades, with multiple generations of the same families working alongside us.

These long-standing partnerships, both within our company and across our global supply chain, help us maintain consistent quality while ensuring working practices align with the standards and values we expect across our business

Built to Last

One of the most important ways we reduce environmental impact is by designing products that last.

By focusing on durable materials, thoughtful construction and timeless design, we create accessories that stay in use for years rather than seasons.

Because the most responsible product is often the one you don’t need to replace.
